A Gathering of Communicators

When believers in Christ come together - in large groups or small gatherings, God has an intent and a purpose.  The Bible teaches that when we come together and pray together, that amazing things can happen.  God wants His body to display a sense of connectivity. And, this passage reminds us about one element that can happen when we meet together. It's from Proverbs 27 (ESV):
17 Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.
18 Whoever tends a fig tree will eat its fruit, and he who guards his master will be honored.
19 As in water face reflects face, so the heart of man reflects the man.

The iron was evident in a recent meeting that Billy Irvin and I attended in Nashville - the annual National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville.  I hope you heard my conversation with NRB President and CEO Troy Miller on Thursday's program.  It's available through our website, app, and Faith Radio On Demand.

The NRB Press Center released this information on the final day of the convention:
The National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) association welcomed more than 5,700 Christian media professionals—including 272 international attendees representing 43 countries outside the United States—to the NRB 2026 International Christian Media Convention, held February 17–20 in Nashville, Tenn. The leading global convention and trade show for Christian communicators featured 56,000 sq. feet of exhibits with more than 240 exhibitors.
Later in the week, there was an America 250 patriotic celebration, headlined by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, who stated, "As religious communicators, you give voice to the average person in the pew,” adding, “Once you serve and strengthen their communities, it impacts every area of life, including serving in the military. We people of faith must not back down. We will continue to praise Christ and exalt God. And if we did back down, as it says in Luke 19, the very rocks will cry out to praise Him.”
“It’s not us—our organizations, our programs, or our words—that comfort broken hearts or heal lifelong wounds. It is Christ and His Word.

It’s not our words that give hope to those in despair—it is Christ and His Word.

It’s not our words that draw men and women to love and worship God more than they love themselves or this present world—it is Christ and His Word.

It’s not our words that bring lasting transformation to people and cultures—it is Christ and His Word.

It is the wisdom of God—revealed in the written Word and in Christ, the living Word—that exposes the lies of this world and rescues hearts from the folly of their own ways. It is the beauty of Christ revealed in Scripture that woos us from trivial pursuits and awakens us to the surpassing worth of our supreme Treasure.”
Those words can remind us about the power and authority of God's Word, which thousands gathered in Nashville recently, including your representatives of Faith Radio, are called to communicate.  And, our dedication to you, to be "sharpened," and to bring back content that can encourage you - motivates us to spend that week at NRB.

What impact can this gathering of over 5700 attendees, including 272 from countries outside the U.S. have?   Together, as Christian communicators, we have the power of agreement, recognizing that God moves powerfully as His people come together.  We recognize the power of truth - as we are committed to relating the truth of God, hearts and lives can be changed.  And, we can experience the power of God's love, a love that, when effectively shared through His Church, can make a dramatic impact on our world.
