More Gender Madness
One of the hideous trends in our culture today is the denial of one's own identity, either willfully or ignorantly, which is an affront to accepting who God created a person to be. Under the guise of so-called "gender identity," people are asked to deny truth and to embrace and even endorse this form of false compassion and to virtue signal. It's not compassionate to perpetuate a lie. The Bible says in Ephesians 4 (ESV):
25 Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.
26 Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,
27 and give no opportunity to the devil.
Jennifer Melle was a nurse who worked for 12 years at St. Helier Hospital in Surrey, southern England, according to an article at The Christian Post. It reported:

Jennifer Melle was a nurse who worked for 12 years at St. Helier Hospital in Surrey, southern England, according to an article at The Christian Post. It reported:
She had been facing a disciplinary hearing over her conduct toward a convicted pedophile inmate she had treated. The patient, a man who identifies as a woman, responded to Melle’s clinical language with racial abuse and a physical threat, prompting security intervention.
Despite being the target of the abuse, Melle received a written warning in October 2024 and was referred to the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a “potential risk” for not using the patient’s self-declared gender identity.
Hospital officials suspended her within days of her case gaining national attention in March 2025. She was removed from duty, escorted off the premises, and told she was under investigation for a “potential data breach.”

A hearing on her case was scheduled for December, but due to the support of eight members of Parliament, it was cancelled. Another hearing was scheduled for January, which did take place, resulting in an announcement that no further action against Jennifer would be taken. But, that does not restore her to her previous position; it seems to say that she will not be punished further. What about her job? What about her livelihood? Any admission of guilt by the hospital? The Christian Post did note that an employment hearing is scheduled to take place in April.
Jennifer did speak recently and thanked people for their support. She also "called on the health secretary to align NHS policy with legal standards affirming biological sex," and referred to an instance in which nurses in another location had spoken out about a male in female changing rooms, but action was taken against those who complained.
The Christian Post states, "Melle remains supported by the Christian Legal Centre, the legal arm of Christian Concern, and is pursuing legal action on grounds of harassment, discrimination, victimisation and violations of her rights to freedom of thought, conscience and religion."
The Bible talks about how there will be times in which evil is called good and good is called evil. In the area of so-called "gender identity," it has become a punishable offense to "misgender" someone, that is, to call him or her by what are called "preferred pronouns," rather than accurate references to biological sex. Confusion essentially results in more confusion, which causes pain to those who desire to speak the truth - not "their truth," but "the truth" about biology, as designed by God.
The separation of sex from gender has become a potent weapon against people of faith. Now, the term, "gender," is used to describe the way one feels about his or her identity; "sex" is a reference to biology. The two should be synonymous, but in the minds and mouths of some, they are not. This breeds a lack of clarity and is an expression of subjective, personal "truth," which is an affront to absolute truth.
We must decide, though, to not allow the world to dictate the language we use. Gender "pronouns," references to "gender-affirming care" rather than harmful procedures to change one's sex, referring to a sex "assigned at birth," are examples of language shifts that unfortunately, lead to a greater acceptance to thoughts and behavior that are an affront to the One who has made us.
