Gender Mania in VA

God is our Creator, and He has created two sexes, or genders.  Despite the attempt to say that "sex" is biological and "gender" is based on feeling, God's word is sure and absolute.  When we allow confusion and not biological and Biblical reality to set in regarding sexuality, the consequences are not good.  Jesus, in responding to yet another attempt to trap Him from the Pharisees, stated in Matthew 19 (ESV):
4 He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female,
5 and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?
6 So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate. ”

Loudoun County, Virginia has for years held to a policy that, according to The Daily Signal, states the schools “shall allow gender-expansive or transgender students to use their chosen name and gender pronouns that reflect their consistently asserted gender identity without any substantiating evidence.”  The article adds, "The policy allows boys to compete in girls’ sports and to access girls’ bathrooms and locker rooms if the boys claim to identify as girls."

The federal government has found that school district's policy violates Title IX.  But, as the article notes, "...following a closed session Tuesday, the Loudoun County school board voted, 6-3, against agreeing to a resolution agreement with the Office for Civil Rights, Loudoun Now reported. The school district may lose its federal funding, up to $46 million, as a result of noncompliance.

The policy produced a series of heinous incidents in 2021: "On May 28, 2021, a 15-year-old male student forced a girl to commit sex acts at Stone Bridge High School. He went on to sexually assault another girl in the girls’ restroom at Broad Run High School on Oct. 6."  The juvenile court said he was "not innocent."  And the student pled "no contest."  The superintendent at the time denied such acts occurred. The father of one of the victims, Scott Smith, according to the Daily Signal piece, "spoke out and was arrested and eventually convicted on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest."  He was later pardoned by Gov. Youngkin.

Now, there are high school boys are under investigation in the county - for "'sexual harassment.' Their crime? Complaining about a girl in the boys’ locker room." The article relates:
According to the local ABC News affiliate, a female student used her phone to record three boys in the locker room. While the school district prohibits video and audio recordings in school locker rooms, the district is investigating the boys, not the girl who recorded them.
Gov. Youngkin has requested Attorney General Minares to investigate.

In May, The Christian Post published an article about the visit of the three boys to a local church.  It stated:
A local megachurch is rallying behind three male students at Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn, Virginia, who are being investigated for sexual harassment after complaining about a female student who identifies as a boy in the boys' locker room.

On Sunday, Gary Hamrick, senior pastor of Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg, introduced the boys to his congregation and pledged his support for them.
Pastor Hamrick, who is heard on Cornerstone Connection weeknights at 8:00 on Faith Radio, was quoted by television station WJLA: "When I had heard about these three young men who attended Stone Bridge High School had been accused of sexual harassment just because they questioned a female in the boys' locker room, I just felt compelled, as a pastor in the area, to bring our church together to support them and to show our support for their rights to be in a boys' locker room without the invasion of privacy of a biological female..."

The pastor noted that his congregation was alarmed to find out about the afore-mentioned policy, Policy 8040.  Hamrick stated, "when I mentioned how this policy has now been put into full force, and these three young men have been charged with sexual harassment because of violating Policy 8040, our congregation just rallied behind them. They stood to their feet. They applauded these young men when I brought them up on stage."

I am thankful that Gary Hamrick sounded the alarm to his congregation about this abhorrent policy.  Senior Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, who is heard weekdays at 3:30 p.m. on Faith Radio on Real Life Radio, did something similar in his pulpit earlier this month about a proposed California bill, AB 495, which, according to CBN.com, would "allow non-related adults who either have an extended 'familial' connection or a 'mentoring relationship' with the child to gain legal authority over the child with a single affidavit that does not require parental consent."  Pastor Hibbs responded by saying to his congregation: "If this bill passes, I am going to ask you to leave the state of California,” adding, “You’re gonna need to pack up and get out; you gotta get out. You gotta run with your kids. You gotta go.”  A rally was scheduled for yesterday at the State Capitol in Sacramento in opposition to the bill.

I am thankful that there are people all around our nation who, as Ephesians 5 refers to, understand the times. We have to recognize and call out perversion for what it is: an abandonment of God's truth.  We also have to call out lawmakers and policy makers who make laws and ordinances that promote corruption.

God's teachings are never live and let live.  A cavalier attitude toward gay marriage and sexual perversion does not accomplish His purposes.  When you say that what a person does behind closed doors is nobody's business, you are not walking in love, because we should love people enough to tell them the truth.  So, we must abandon casual Christianity and cultural Christianity, which are not expressions of Christianity at all and develop a devotion to "radical obedience," sounding the alarm for Jesus in an evil day.
