Director
Greg White, of Andalusia, recently retired from a career of over 40 years as a CPA in private practice.
Additionally, he completed over 21 years of service as the Chairman of the Covington County
Commission in 2024.
Greg grew up in Covington County and graduated from Andalusia High School in 1974. He and his wife,
Jan, have lived in Covington County since returning in 1980. He is a 1977 graduate (with a bachelor's
degree in business administration, with majors in accounting and management) of Evangel University in
Springfield, MO.
White’s contributions go beyond government - he was a founding board member of Sav-A-Life of
Covington County (a Crisis Pregnancy Center), Crossover (an addiction recovery ministry), and the
Andalusia City Schools Foundation. He continues to be actively involved in these and numerous other
religious and civic efforts across Covington County. He and Jan are active members at Southside Baptist
Church in Andalusia, where he has participated in numerous areas of ministry, as well as in several
mission trips to Haiti.
Greg’s service also reaches beyond the county – he has served on the SE Alabama Regional Planning
Commission (including one term as Chairman), the Association of County Commissions of Alabama (as a
board member and second vice president), and as a member of the Alabama Local Governments Health
Insurance Board, and on the Local Governments’ Alabama Trust Fund. He also served eight years as an
Alabama representative on the tri-state Southern Rail Commission, including six years on the Executive
Committee, and two years as Chairman.
The Whites are proud grandparents of Savannah and Emily, who are the daughters of Kelley (White) and
