Mary Kirkland, Editor, On-Air Personality | email Mary |
Host of "FaithSongs"
Mary Kirkland was born and raised in Dothan, Alabama. After high school, she attended and graduated from Auburn University with a degree in print journalism. She then attended Georgetown University’s Institute of Political Journalism. After moving back from Washington, D.C., she worked for her hometown newspaper, The Dothan Eagle.
Mary moved into broadcasting when she accepted a job as a producer for Alabama Public Television in Montgomery. After two years at APT, Mary became an on-air reporter for WSFA 12News.
It was also about that time that Mary met her husband, Keith, and they married in 2001. Mary loved working for WSFA but found the schedule too demanding after becoming a wife. She eventually left that station and became a pharmaceutical sales representative for one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the industry. Mary then decided to become a stay-at-home mom after she and Keith had their first child, Kaleb.
Mary stayed home full time for almost 9 years and during that time, she and Keith also had Kathryn and Kendall. After much prayer, Mary decided to join the Faith Radio staff in 2013.
Mary now gets to share her passion for the Lord as she hosts FaithSongs and her love for writing comes in handy as she writes for and edits the Ministry Magazine and monthly newsletters for Faith Radio.
When Mary is not busy with her family, she enjoys reading anything that challenges her spiritually and doing some writing on her own. She also enjoys exercising. Her life verse comes from Romans 12:2- “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
